How Daniel Akpeyi Became Super Eagles Goal Keeper

In 2001, Tunde Ekpekurede Foundation began youth empowerment projects in Sapele, Delta State. The first project the foundation decided to set up was a football club – Ekpekurede FC. The club with constant dose of inspiration and training began competing with local clubs in town and by 2003 became the dominant football club in Sapele, and proceeded to the State league matches. By 2007, Ekpekurede FC won the Delta State Division 1 match sponsored by Ecobank and represented Delta State at the National level in Osogbo that year. That little act of empowerment has produced so many football legends now playing within and abroad.

One of such legends is Daniel Akpeyi. Daniel began his football career as a goal keeper for the team in 2002. Today he is goal keeper for the Super Eagles and Chippa United in South Africa. We can create another economy outside of OIL.
